Heart Health

    Home Heart Health
    Grandpa with two kids

Did you know that heart disease is the number one cause of death in North America?    While this may sound like a daunting statistic, consider this:  Clinical studies have also shown that heart disease can be modified and reversed in up to 80% of cases.   80%!   Now that  is a game changer.

Even if you have a family history of heart disease or stroke you do not have to resign yourself to the same fate.  With some strategic lifestyle modifications and support you have the power to alter your health outcome and ensure a long and vital life.

That is where I come in…

Following are the top controllable and reversible causes of heart disease, and the areas where we can affect the most change:

    – High blood pressure

    – Being overweight or obese

    – Diabetes (Type II) and uncontrolled blood sugar

    – Unmanaged stress

    – Lack of regular physical exercise

    – Smoking

    – Elevated Cholesterol – specifically elevated Oxidized LDL, small dense LDL, APO-A & B, Lipoprotein A

    – Inflammation*

A side note on Inflammation:   Researchers now understand that heart attacks and strokes occur because of inflammation in arteries. Measuring the amount and type of lipid particles + inflammation give you a more complete picture of your health status and risk than cholesterol levels alone.   To read more about the importance of lipoprotein particle testing click here: http://www.drmollynd.com/high-cholesterol-you-need-know-ldl-hdl-subtypes/

    Assessing Your Hearth Health:

I utilize the Comprehensive Cardiometabolic Profile Test which detects your risk for stroke and heart disease and your current cardiovascular disease status.

This test measures 17 primary and secondary traditional and advanced biomarkers including Hs-CRP, homocysteine, APO-A&B, oxidized LDL, small dense LDL and HBAIC.

If You Want to Lower Your Blood Pressure or Cholesterol and Reverse Heart Disease Let’s Get Started!
