    Top 10 Exercise Strategies

    By mollyscotchmer | Health Optimization, Weight Loss | 0 comment | | 1

It’s no secret that regular exercise has a profound impact on our overall health.  But, did you know that just 20 minutes of physical activity each day can:

    • Increase your life span and help prevent many chronic diseases including heart disease and stroke

    • Increase your metabolism and help you lose weight more easily

    • Reduce stress, anxiety, and depression and improve your mood

    • Maintain active healthy brain function

    • Aid in optimal digestion and promote regular bowel movements

    • Increase bone density

    • Improves sleep quality

Here are 10 easy ways to get more exercise each day.  Every little bit helps so even if you are at work try to look for opportunities to get moving any way that you can:

    1. Park further away from your destination and walk the extra distance

    2. Stand up while talking on the phone and walk around the room

    3. Take the stairs instead of the elevator

    4. Walk with your kids to school instead of driving them

    5. Go for a family walk or walk with a friend after dinner

    6. Walk or bike to the corner store instead of driving

    7. Walk down the hall at work or in your neighborhood to speak to someone instead of calling them

    8. Walk around your building for a break during the work day or at lunch

    9. Golfing: walk instead of taking a cart

    10. Tennis: play singles instead of doubles
